Chapter two completed
Finally -- those pages took far too long to complete...

The final pages of episode two

I know it's only a few pages and I could have waited -- but i didn't know how long it would take me. The IB light in the clinic is killing my computer;)
Worry not, in the next episode the light will change as a certain chaos mage triggers off the alarm. But that'll happen in September, as I won't be home for the whole August, and thus the next update is due to September...

Some production notes: Argent got  clothes change (for clinic clothes). It's really hard to find good looking children clothes for Poser figures...

I really, really liked the way the kidnapped nurse looks. Took me a moment to pose the scene and I'm satisfied with the result.

Oh yes, and in this chapter begins the long-time wondering "who fathered this child?" -- let's just say there'll be clues. And mis-clues. And it's not as obvious as it looks.

The close connection between chaotic magic and healing magic could be dwelled upon further in future episodes... For now it's suffice to know exactly what Nate has said: they are both rather unpredictable and not halted by the barrier, thus all mages inside the clinic cannot defend themselves against the 'terrorists', who also happen to be -- though it wasn't shown -- Chaos Mages.

I've also updated the extra section on the main page.
And if you can see the title and small cover for episode three -- it's absolutelly normal;) As I won't be able to update till September, I'll post teasers and some concept art there. Soon. I'll let you know in the journal;)

One final note. If you'd like to be notified via e-mail whenever My Mayfly is updated, mail me on ariah81@yahoo.com
I'll add your address to the mailing list and when a new chapter is ready, you'll be first to know.

Hi Anna,

Cheers for the update, please include a direct link next time :-)

Well, i feel quite upset now because i can't seem to find anything to gripe about! It's all looking great as expected, don't ever let your quality slip :-) If possible prior to publication always get someone to proof check it for grammer and quality, do a low render version first, make sure it all fits together and get another pair of eyes to look over it. *hint hint* :-)

Really like the clinic, very different, works really well, though don't stay there too long, try to think about how you could diversify your location, making them really different. Thats what i love about the starwars films, from a design/artistic point of view i love that every location is always different. Strange little gadgets and unique objects that just make you think, and bring the world alive.

Well you ended with a nice link to the next chapter, i'm interested for sure. That's a great thing to have, also a very difficult thing to do - making an ending that hold the reader to the next chapter. So i hope you know where it's going :-) Hey do you watch Lost? i love how they always have a great ending at the end of each episode, just makes you want to see the next one. The end of series 2 was just an absolute killer! can't wait until next year. But i'm kind of afraid that what started as a promising story might turn out to be a dissapointment after series 5. Forgive me if you don't watch Lost but this is something you should give a lot of thought, have a strong story line but constantly think how it can be improved, what extra twists and turns can you throw in, always keep it flexible, and constantly think to yourself, how can i make this better? When i'm doing stories etc i often try to visualise how it would work as a film, breaking down each scene like a story board, that works for me, and i think people can visualise it better. That's one thing that i constantly say with your work, it's very visual and dynamic, very much like a film story board.

Well keep it up Anna, looking very good, can't believe i have to wait another month to find out what happens next, first Lost and now you :-)

The nurse in the second to last page looks well done.

Oh and i like the extra's update, like the use of an alphabetical list, different but works well :-)

Cheers - Dave :-)

I do watch Lost! Season 1 is by far my favourite TV series, season 2 follows close behind (though it had its misses near the middle) and the ending was... Really, really fantastic. All my favourite characters in jeopardy! (I love it!)

Another of my Tv favs is Prison Break.

As for the story: I know where it's going, pretty much up to the very end (so, the the point when Argent is a grown up girl, most questions are answered and most relationships past). Naturally, the plot itself tends to meander once in a while. Sometimes a character gets more 'screen time' than it was previously meant. For example the main romantic relationship of the comic: You may think You know where it's going, how it'll develop and who will end up with whom -- but the plot may decide otherwise. I've already changed that a bit and will probably alter it more.

The setting -- and the clinic -- will remain for chapter three and then probably return in a scene or two, but not for the whole chapter.
In the future we'll have a ball room, a ruined city, some sewers... I won't name them all, but I hope they're worth waiting for. I know I'm waiting for creating them;)
